Why Catholic Course?

The richness of our Catholic faith is always unfolding. Whether our formal education was for a few years or many, adults need to continue to unfold the mysteries of their faith. The ESRCCB has chosen to use the RENEW International series? Why Catholic, Journey through the Catechism?. The course will start on Ash Wednesday on February 06, 2008 from 7.30 to 9.00 pm downstairs at Bruderklaus Church.

Course topic: The Celebration of the Christian Mystery: Sacraments

Course dates:

  • February 06, 2008 1. God Acts through the Liturgy
  • February 20, 2008 2. The Liturgy, the work of God
  •  February 27, 2008 3. Celebrating Liturgy
  • March 08, 2008 5. Baptism, a Sacrament of Initiation
(Retreat)           7. Confirmation, a Sacrament of Initiation
                            8. Eucharist, a Sacrament of Initiation
  • March 12, 2008 4. God Acts through the Sacraments

The retreat will be held at Mariastein Abbey on March 8, 2008 from 10 am to 4 pm. Everybody in our community is welcome to participate in the course. We would especially like to invite the parents of those children who will be preparing for their First Communion and Confirmation in spring 2008.The Why Catholic course encourages adult learning in a prayerful small community setting and presents Adult Faith Formation and enrichment sessions for the whole parish. As Christians, we are called to be a faith community, a community in which people can come to know one another and share their faith and life - thus unleashing the mighty power of the Holy Spirit.

Please feel free to sign-up today either by sending an e-mail to info@esrccb.org or at the notice board (Sign-up Sheet) at the back of our church. Thank you. If you wish to join our small "leader / helper team", please let me know. We are very thankful for any kind of support we can get in order to make this course enriching and enjoyable for all of us. We are very much looking forward to exploring the roots of our Catholic faith with you.
